Welcome back to another enchanting season of Practically Magick! I'm Courtney Pearl, your Celtic folk witch, and I'm thrilled to guide you through the mystical realms of real-world energies, folklore, and tarot. After a refreshing six-week break, I'm back with new insights and stories to help you harness your inner power and make your life truly magical.
This season, we're diving deep into the fascinating world of Celtic folklore and mythologies. I've been busy with storytelling events, sharing ancient tales that connect us to the magic all around us. If you missed the finale of Season 1, we had an exciting announcement about the Witch Movie Project. We're reviewing 16 witch-themed movies leading up to Halloween, and I can't wait for you to join us on this cinematic journey!
In our latest episode, we kick things off with a tarot reading using the Witch's Wisdom deck. The cards I pulled, the Nine of Fire and the Messenger of Air, offer profound insights into the themes of abundance and self-compassion. As we approach the equinox and reflect on our personal harvests, these cards remind us to be gentle with ourselves and to embrace the fruits of our labor.
One of the most intriguing topics we explore is the concept of curses and hexes. From the infamous curse of King Tut's tomb to the mysterious Hope Diamond, these stories captivate our imagination and evoke questions about the nature of magic and intention. We delve into the historical and cultural significance of curses, examining how they have been portrayed and understood through the ages. We are fascinated by the idea, whether magical or psychological, that we could victim of a curse or have the power to curse others.
When you are presented with the idea of curses, how does your body respond? Do you feel fear or images of "Dark Magic" come to mind? I had made jokes about curses in the past on the podcast and subject brought up concerns and biases about the practice of this type of witchcraft. I don't doubt that some magic practitioners of certain belief systems participate in intentional cursing and hexing, sending negative energy to their enemies. As a Magical Persons "Swynraig", or Healing Facilitator, I have my own view of the truth behind curses.
Curses aren't just ancient legends; they can manifest in our everyday lives through negative self-talk and limiting beliefs. How many times have you doubted your abilities or felt unworthy of success? These thoughts can act as self-imposed curses, hindering our growth and potential. By becoming aware of our inner dialogue, we can transform these negative patterns and reclaim our power.
As we navigate this magical journey together, I encourage you to engage with me. Share your thoughts, experiences, and questions about all things magical. Whether you're a seasoned practitioner or just beginning to explore the world of witchcraft, there's always something new to learn and discover.
And speaking of learning, I'm excited to announce a new offering from Prism Healing: a six-month course on Healing Through Art. This transformative program combines emotional healing with creative expression, guided by the cycles of the moon and enriched with Celtic mythology. It's a unique opportunity to deepen your self-awareness and connect with a supportive community. You can learn more and sign up for this on my website's classes page: Healing Through Art Course
So, are you ready to unlock your inner magic? Tune in to our latest episode, embrace the wisdom of the tarot, and explore the rich tapestry of Celtic folklore. Let's make this season truly magical together.
